The first edition of the ‘Virtual Live Festival’, organized by the Korean broadcaster MBC and the VOD television service Coupang Play, kicks off on October 18. This two-day event is a direct response to the massive rise of virtual artists and the AI craze in music.

The festival’s lineup includes as many as 10 virtual performers, led by major artist such as million-selling virtual group PLAVE, AI idol naevis, and virtual avatar artists such as APOKI, ISEGYE IDOL, LUVITA, BRAZY IRISÉ, OFF EQUALS, Plan.B, and lastly Virtual YB, a real band that will take on the challenge of implementing technology onto their performance.

The festival will seamlessly blend new technology with traditional live performances. The lineup is stacked, featuring both human and virtual artists. Traditional music acts will include popular pop artists: RIIZE, NMIXX, KISS OF LIFE, tripleS, Xdinary Heroes, Choi Ye Na, izna, &TEAM, AHOF, KiiiKiii, USPEER, Koyote, and John Park.

The event will take place on 18th and 19th October at Sangam Munhwa Plaza outside MBC headquarters in Seoul. Virtual Live Festival will also be avaible to watch online through Coupang Play’s live streaming service with tickets available for korean users only.
